Since launching this project, I've tried to offer something more than just headlines — proper reporting, on-the-ground coverage, interviews, analysis and stories that reflect the true soul of cycling.
It's been a joy to see this community grow: There are now over 600 of us cycling fanatics, and according to people who know about emails and newsletters, my open rates are pretty high. Thank you so much for it!
To keep doing this properly, and to make Cycling Report sustainable in the long run, I’m moving most of the content behind a paywall. That means more in-depth pieces, nearly daily updates, and the kind of reporting that takes time and care.
🚴 Benidorm CX World Cup, Clàssica CV 1969, Setmana Ciclista: Volta Femenina de la Comunitat Valenciana, Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana, Strade Bianche, Volta a Catalunya, Itzulia Basque Country and the Spanish National Championships last weekend.
➡️ These are the races I’ve attended in person so far since January – in most cases covering travel and associated costs out of my own pocket. I believe in the value of proper reporting, of being on the ground to tell the story later speaking with the people involved.

That’s why I’m asking you to subscribe to help make this project viable.
When I used to leave school and stop by the newsagent, my mum didn’t buy me sweets — she bought me the sports newspaper. True story. That probably explains a lot, not all of it good 😅, but that spirit is still alive on me a couple of decades later.
That’s exactly what I want Cycling Report to be: a kind of personal newspaper about professional cycling. Everything will still be from my point of view, just like it’s been so far:
Covering races
News analysis
Long-form features
Interviews
Reports
Previews
Opinion pieces
And much more, but almost on a daily basis, starting with this thrilling Tour de France ahead of us (and you'll have an in-depth preview coming your way shortly).
Most posts will be for subscribers only, so if you want the full experience, the daily rhythm of the cycling industry, the races and everything around them, the subscription is the only way.
🚨 The price will be the minimum allowed by Substack, with a 17% discount on the annual subscription and a 48-hour free trial.
🫶 If you’ve found value in Cycling Report so far, I’d love to have you on board for this next stage.
